How it works
- Step 1Add a black and white or sepia photograph.
- Step 2The engine reads the scene and gives every part of it a color that fits.
- Step 3Take the file. For an old print, run the restorer first and colorize the clean version.

How does it choose colors?
From context. It has seen enough photographs to know that foliage is green, brick is red and skin is a narrow range of browns, so it reads the scene and colors it plausibly. It cannot know that a particular dress was red, but the result reads true.
Should I restore before colorizing?
For a damaged print, yes. Repair it first and colorize the clean copy. Color lands better on detail that is actually there.
What does it cost?
2 credits a photo, which is cheap enough to take a whole album through it.
Does it work on drawings?
It is tuned for photographs. Line art and illustration come out inconsistent, so treat that as a happy accident rather than the job.
